What is an Electrical Danger Notification?
Over the course of a job, you may notice a customer has an unsafe electrical installation or equipment.
An Electrical Danger Notification* certificate is designed to be used by NICEIC registered electricians to provide a formal record that the customer has been informed of such danger. Apart from helping identifying unsafe appliances, the certificate will specify any work done to make it safe, and any urgent work that needs to be done after the date.
The record is designed to offer a clear course of action for any unsafe electrical installation/appliance that you have spotted. To make this easy for customers to understand, there are checkboxes for fire, electric shocks, burns, and more.
Following this, the record will detail any work taken on the date, as well as any urgent work that the person responsible for the electrical installation must do.
*Note that this is different from an Electrical Danger Notice, which is a short form (or sticker) designed to be stuck onto or near the appliance itself. The purpose of a notice sticker is to clearly inform anyone who might use the appliance of its unsafe condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is an Electrical Danger Notification different from an Electrical Danger Notice?
Many places use these two phrases interchangeably. It’s best to think of an Electrical Danger Notification as the certificate and record (which is the template you can download on this page) and an Electrical Danger Notice as a sticker which is affixed to unsafe electrical appliances.
How does a PDF template benefit the customer?
Today’s customers, particularly younger ones, have come to expect digital versions of most things, certificates and records included. There’s good reason for this too – they’re much more convenient, they don’t have to worry about filing them away somewhere safe, and they’re much neater.
Offering your customer a digital Electrical Danger Notification is a great way to look professional and like you’re keeping up with the times.
Is it easy to switch from paper to software warning notices?
The short answer is yes.
Filling out a template online is no different to doing it on paper, except you’re typing, not writing it out by hand. Remember that if you or your customer prefer having a hard copy on hand, you can still always print them out.
