What is an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)?
An Electrical Installation Certificate, or EIC, assures the safety of any new electrical installations in a property. After 5 years, landlords or property managers must get their properties inspected again, but with an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) instead.
An EIC is a lengthy form with several components. As an electrician, you must note all the property’s new electrical components, sign off on the installation, construction, inspection, and testing of the works, provide full circuit details and test results, and more.
All can be done online in a PDF using FieldRocket’s BS7671-certified EIC template.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) and an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)?
The two different forms serve much the same purpose (ensuring a property’s electrical installations meet safety standards set out by the BS7671 regulations). However, an EIC is used for new or modified electrical installations. Meanwhile, an EICR is used to check the safety and condition of existing electrical systems.
What’s the difference between a paper EIC and a digital one?
The short answer is there is no practical difference between the two. A PDF template can be exported and emailed to the customer in the same way you would hand off a paper certificate. FieldRocket’s has also been designed to look both professional and tidy. If you prefer hard copies, the completed PDF form can always be printed out.
Can I keep and reuse this EIC template?
Yes. Our EIC certificate template is designed to be used and reused as many times as you like. You can even add your logo onto the blank corner on the first page of the form to customise it and make it look more professional.
