What is a CD12 Landlord’s Oil Installation Check?

Create custom forms for your team

Landlord’s Oil Installation Checks are designed to maintain and certify the safe operation of oil appliances in homes in the UK. During the check, an OFTEC registered oil engineer will thoroughly assess the condition of the oil installation, pipework, and storage tanks. In doing so, they will carry out basic tests and inspections to make an assessment on its safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

While there is no legal requirement to hold a landlord’s safety certificate for oil installations, CD12 certificates provide evidence that a check has taken place. For tenants and landlords, this offers peace of mind.

A CD12 may also be substituted by a CD11 Oil Firing Servicing and Commissioning Report. If the engineer finds a fault which cannot be repaired on the spot and puts the appliance at risk, a warning label and a CD14 Oil Warning & Advice Notice should be issued as well.

3 benefits of issuing digital CP12 Oil Installation Check Certificates

This simple PDF template will make your oil installation checks easier and more professional. Here’s why:

      Save time and money.

Certificate pads often come with 2 extra carbon copies. That totals 3 certificates that you have to hand to customers and file away at your office – normally over your evenings or weekends if you don’t have an admin team.

These pads are just another thing you need to keep track of and stock. When you issue upwards of 20 types of certificates, this is a huge responsibility. Each pad will also run you down a fair sum.

      Look professional & stay organised.

Messy handwriting, creases, flimsy carbon copies are all things you have to watch out for. An electronic certificate is far neater and can be customised with your own company’s logo and branding.

PDF templates can also be finished on site and take seconds to email and store away on a cloud storage facility like Google Drive, iCloud or Dropbox. Instead of a huge filing cabinet filled with year’s worth of paperwork, you can get away with keeping everything online – safe and sound.
